Women’s & Maternal Mental Health

I have a profound respect for the rich and uniquely intricate internal lives of women. I specialize in working with women around the many challenges that can arise throughout the female lifespan, such as complex feelings related to:

  • Body image
  • Sense of self
  • Intimacy and sexuality
  • Considering or trying to conceive
  • Pregnancy and postpartum adjustment
  • Perinatal mood concerns
  • Identity shifts in motherhood
  • Birth trauma
  • Pregnancy loss
  • Fertility challenges
  • The experience of not having children
  • Mid-life hormonal changes
  • A history of trauma

There are a range of societal, cultural, and psycho-biological factors that disproportionately impact women and contribute to psychological pressures and distress. Working with women around the multi-layered issues that influence them and their well-being is a deeply meaningful and rewarding part of my work as a psychologist.
